There's serious shortage of peace time mechanics. I'm on what has to be my tenth campaign on Vanilla and I don't see myself needing any of those things anytime soon.

I have used mods here or there, I don't switch families (though I will at least once in the future it does sound fun) and I have no self imposed restrictions. If you have trouble avoiding blobbing in this game then you are battling against your own internal ambition not the game.ДЄnd the idea that Mods, self imposed restrictions, or switching counties is needed to keep this game interesting is also false or at best your opinion. Paradox games make it hard to avoid blobbing? Really I mean that's way too general a statement for way too general a selection of games, and as far as CK2 goes that is just false. 'Since Paradox games make it hard to avoid blobbing, you pretty much have to play with mods, severe self-imposed restrictions, switch countries every now and then, or otherwise do silly things or your second/third/fourth campaigns will be pretty boring.' My only criticism is this line of barely related opinionated drivel at the beginning. It's a very good guide I will read it in its entirety later and it is certainly worth a bookmark. I particularly like the 'What converter does' and 'What converter doesn't do' that is really cutting through to what people wonder when they wonder about this.ДЄnd then it goes on and on breaking down more detailed into how religions, tags the HRE gets converted. That is a needed paragraph of damage control where you tell the reader hey this isn't a perfect process.ДЄfter that it goes into what the converter does where the files are located. That first bulleted paragraph might come off to some as critical but it isn't. I didn't know Ironman was finicky with it.
